Way of breathing and of empty hands: as implied, this is the art of unarmed combat relying on deep concentration and energy. To understand the Breath means to transform respiration into concentration, and concentration into energy. In other words, the meaning of this Way, would be to say that only Breath exists to control the 'fight' and the hands, when used, are simply an extension of the breath. It is a master class in breathing, where respiration of the mind, limbs and entire circulation is employed. This principle is found in all disciplines but it is a fundamental rule of aiki-do, karate and judo.
